Oaklands Farm Eggs is looking for reliable and hardworking Egg Packers / Production Operatives to join our team at our poultry site in Milton Damerel, North Devon.
This is a hands-on, active role working as part of a small team. If you enjoy practical work, like keeping busy and prefer a smaller working environment, this could be a great fit.
The Shift
06:00–15:00
6 days ON / 2 days OFF rolling rota
£13.35 per hour
Full-time, permanent position
Immediate starts available
As this is a rolling rota, your days off will change each week.
What You'll Be Doing:
Responsibilities
- Checking, grading and packing eggs
- Working with egg packing and production equipment
- Preparing orders for dispatch
- Completing production records and paperwork
- Moving pallets and products around the packing area
- Loading and unloading using EPT equipment
- Keeping the packing and production and facilities areas clean and organised (cleaning at the end of every shift)
- General production and warehouse duties
- Following strict health & safety, hygiene and biosecurity procedures
Requirements
- This is a physical role, involving standing and walking for much of the shift as well as regular manual handling.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Happy working independently when required
- Physically comfortable with an active role
- Able to read and write English confidently to complete production paperwork
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Previous experience in egg packing, food production, farming, warehousing or manufacturing would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
- Experience using an EPT (Electric Pallet Truck) would also be beneficial.

Location – Milton Damerel, North Devon
Our site is in a rural location, so your own transport is essential, particularly for the 06:00 start.

Poultry Farm Stockperson - North Devon

About the Role
Oaklands Farm Eggs is currently recruiting Poultry Farm Labourers to join our busy layer farm based in Milton Damerel, North Devon.
This is a full-time, hands-on position suited to individuals who enjoy practical, physical work and working in an agricultural environment. Full training will be provided, so previous poultry experience is beneficial but not essential.
Accommodation is available on site at a small cost. Shared accommodation is currently available, accommodation for couples available by arrangement.
Please note that due to our rural location, applicants must have their own transport.
Responsibilities
- Caring for laying hens, including feeding, monitoring and handling birds
- Maintaining high standards of bird welfare, hygiene and biosecurity
- Cleaning poultry houses and equipment
- Carrying out general farm duties
- Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Working at height when required
- Following all Health & Safety and biosecurity procedures
- Maintaining clean and tidy working areas
Requirements
- Be 18 years old or over
- Have right to work in the UK ( no sponsorship available)
- Be comfortable working around animals in a farm environment
- Be reliable, hardworking and physically fit
- Be able to stand for extended periods and climb steps and stairs
- Have your own transport due to the rural location
- Due to strict biosecurity regulations, applicants who keep any type of birds at home, including chickens, ducks, pigeons or other poultry, cannot be considered for this role.

IT & Systems Assistant
We are looking for a Junior IT & Systems Assistant to join our team and provide day-to-day IT support to colleagues across the business.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has an interest in IT and wants to develop their knowledge and practical experience within a supportive working environment.
You don't need to know everything already. We're looking for someone who is methodical, practical and willing to learn, with a good understanding of basic IT and the confidence to ask for help when they need it.
Working alongside the IT & Systems Manager, you will help keep our IT equipment, user accounts, software and basic business systems working effectively and securely.
What you'll be doing - day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Setting up and updating Windows computers and approved software.
- Setting up and maintaining user accounts, email accounts and Outlook profiles.
- Resetting passwords and helping colleagues with account lockouts.
- Setting up shared mailboxes and distribution lists.
- Connecting computers and other devices to printers and shared resources.
- Maintaining accurate records of computers, monitors, phones and other IT equipment.
- Carrying out routine Windows updates, software patches and security checks.
- Responding to IT support requests and recording the action taken.
- Escalating more complicated issues to the IT & Systems Manager.
- Carrying out basic checks on IT systems and services.
- Supporting colleagues with Microsoft Teams and video conferencing.
- Preparing meeting-room computers, screens and conferencing equipment.
- Keeping IT documentation and equipment records accurate and up to date.
- Writing simple user instructions and troubleshooting guides.
- Keeping IT equipment, spare parts and cabling organised.
- Preparing old IT equipment securely for disposal or reuse.
- Providing basic support for the company's internal software and database systems.
- Assisting with IT hardware and CCTV where required.
Requirements
- Desirable: some experience of IT systems and/or a relevant IT qualification

Employment Basics
5 days per week to ensure cover across the business which will include weekends
