The Griffiths family won The Pullet Rearer of the Year Award on Tuesday night (2nd November) at the National Egg and Poultry Awards 2021. This ceremony recognised outstanding individuals, business excellence and investment in the future of the poultry industry.

The award was collected by Jonathan Griffiths and Michael Griffiths, third generation within the family business.

The judges said “In a tightly fought category, Griffiths farms demonstrated they have thoroughly embraced their customers’ requirements, working closely with clients and NGOs to develop their methods and rearing systems. As well as excellent communication with customers, they have also taken on two graduate trainees to specifically look at keel bone strength and are continually on target with a high flock evenness, and a low mortality.”

Alongside the rearing business the Griffiths family own a large egg producing farm and strive to achieve the highest standard of welfare for their flocks, with no compromise. They were also finalists for the Egg Packer of the Year Award, with their packing stations having the capacity to pack over 1 billion eggs per year.
